I'm an ex-Apple worker and here are some secret iPhone tricks including playing music while recording video

AN ex-Apple employee has shared some secret iPhone tips and tricks that will transform the way you use your device.

Tech-savvy TikToker Sabrina Badin unveiled a string of handy hacks that unlock hundreds of hidden features to her 30,000 followers.

The Canadian Apple expert says she learned a thing or two most people don't know about iPhones while working on the Genius Bar.

Sabrina, who posts under the username @thegeniussabb, showed TikTok users a range of smart shortcuts, including how to play music while recording a video.

She introduced it as the "coolest" hack she mentioned in the clip, before going on to explain how to jazz up videos with a soundtrack of your choice.

Simply play some music through your iPhone speaker using your preferred music app, such as Spotify or Apple Music.

Then while the song is still playing, open up the camera app, making sure that your camera is set to photo mode – not video.

If you then tap and hold the capture button and drag it to the right, your music will continue to play as your iPhone starts to record footage.

Among her other must-use tips, Sabrina revealed a way to save time while you are tidying up your home screen.

She explained there was an easy method to move multiple apps at once – rather than dragging them individually – when having a spring clean.

The former Apple employee demonstrates the trick by tapping and holding one app and then tapping a succession of the other apps that she wants to move.

You can then easily move them across your Home Screen as a group. Letting go will drop them in a line into the empty area of your choosing.

Sabrina then shared a similar time-saving trick to quickly clear up your emails and messages.

The TikToker showed users that by placing two fingers on the display and dragging them downwards, you can efficiently select multiple messages in one fell swoop.

You can then choose to delete them, mark them as read, file them away in a folder and more.

Sabrina regularly posts neat tricks on her TikTok profile, discussing techniques on how to make the most of your Apple devices – including MacBooks and Apple Watches.

In another video, she disclosed a funny way to send some weird animations to your mates between your iPhones.

All you need to do is send someone a secret codeword over iMessage to activate each effect.

Sending "pew pew", for instance, will trigger a laser effect, while "happy birthday" will make balloons float up from the bottom of your mate's screen.

When January rolls around, fireworks will burst across the message if you wish someone “Happy New Year”.

In the wake of the iOs 15 update, iPhone users have been overwhelmed with new features and tools to make your device simpler.

Sabrina discussed how a handy tool called "Live Text" allows you to quickly load the content of a menu or newspaper onto your mobile instantly.

It enables you to point your iPhone camera at a real world object and quickly copy and paste text on it onto your handset.

The technology could help you capture notes on a whiteboard at the end of a meeting or school class, or copy down a handwritten note of a family recipe.

It works through the camera app and utilises high-tech artificial intelligence to recognise and scan text in a variety of lighting conditions.

You will need to point the camera at an object and tap the indicator that appears in the lower right of your display. It looks like lines of text surrounded by a box.

When you tap it, the text jumps out on your display and you're given the option, to copy, select, look up, translate or share the contents.

You can copy and paste it into an email or Note, for instance, or share it with a friend over WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.
