Christmas is often the time of year where accidents happen. Wine can get spilled on carpets, glasses can break and gravy can stain clothes. Wine spillages are a common occurrence and can irreparably damage carpets if they’re not dealt with properly.
With Christmas on the horizon, Flooring Superstore has shared its cleaning methods for removing wine from both carpets and hard flooring.
To gather expert advice, Flooring Superstore worked with Lisa Evans, spokesperson from MyJobQuote, and Henry Paterson, Senior Operations Executive at Housekeep.
Christmas celebrations can often lead to prosecco and white wine being spilled on the floor.
However, despite how bad the stain may look, fear not, there are plenty of cleaning solutions for removing prosecco and white wine stains.
For white wine or prosecco spills on carpets, homeowners should first try and blot the spillages with a dry cloth or paper towel.
Once most the spill is blotted up, use a mixture of warm water, one tablespoon of white vinegar and one tablespoon of washing up liquid to remove the stain.
This should be applied a little at a time and sponged down with a clean white cloth until the spill starts to disappear.
It’s unlikely white wine will stain wood, vinyl or laminate flooring but it still needs to be cleaned up to avoid moisture damage to the floor.
