Sir Ian McKellen, 84, is a British cultural icon and actor who has starred in a plethora of movies.
Some of his most known movies include The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the X-Men films and Richard III.
He has received numerous accolades over the years including a Tony Award, six Olivier Awards, and a Golden Globe Award.
Despite being born in Burnley, Lancashire, and spending his childhood in both Wigan and Bolton, Sir Ian resides in Limehouse in East London.
Sir Ian is believed to live on the same road as the pub he co-owns, The Grapes, with former partner and film director Sean Mathias and businessman Evgeny Lebedev.
The Grapes, which is located on the banks of the River Thames, is a Grade-II listed pub located at number 76 Narrow Street.
The building dates back to the 1720s and is on the site of a pub that was built in 1583.
Recently, there was a Grade-II listed property for sale on the street which had an asking price of £3.5million.
The three-bedroom home was in a prime London location within a row of picturesque Georgian townhouses.

The stunning home has a large, living room with exposed brick and a spacious kitchen with beautiful traditional beams.
Off the living room was a garden room that had access to a riverside conservatory and balcony.
The roof terrace included stunning views of the London skyline and beyond.
While this particular home had a hefty price tag, homes in Limehouse had an overall average price of £496,279 over the last year, according to the UK’s largest property portal, Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Limehouse during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £472,069.
Terraced properties sold for an average of £751,469, with detached properties fetching an eye-watering £1,200,000.
Overall, sold prices in Limehouse over the last year dropped by two percent compared to the previous year. Although sold prices were similar to the 2019 peak of £501,067.
