A MOTORS expert says you can save hundreds on your car insurance with her easy tips.
Abigayle André took to TikTok with eight tips about how to get the best value for money when it comes to insuring your car.
She said: "Car insurance prices have gone up forty per cent this year.
"I know, it's a lot. But here are my top tips to get a better price.
1. Buy in advance
Abigayle said: "Buy your car insurance in advance. This is the sweet spot – 23 to 26 days.
"The longer you leave it, the more you're going to pay."

2. Add a named driver
The expert said: "Add a named driver and experiment. You'd be surprised.
"Sometimes a learner driver can even bring your car insurance down.
"Just experiment with actual people – whom you actually do know."
3. Park carefully
She added: "Think about where you park. Now, you might think it's cheaper to park in your garage – not always true.

"Try parking on the road. Try parking on the road – see how that changes things. But always be honest."
4. Choose the right job title
Abigayle said:"Pick the right job title. Use the job picker tool from Money Saving Expert.
"Find a job title that suits what you do, so it's not lying – but it's cheaper in terms of premiums."
5. Shop around
The expert said: "Shop around. Look directly at insurers' websites and also at comparison websites.
"I would always get as many quotes as possible with the same level of cover – so that I know that I'm getting the best price possible."
"I know it's a bit of legwork, but you've got to work to save money."
6. Pick a multi-car policy
She added: "If somebody in your household has got a car that's insured, find out if they're insured on a multi-car policy.
"It might save you some money."
7. Add your licence number
Abigayle said: "No one ever wants to do this, but add your driving licence number.
"It saved me twenty quid, and it's better to have twenty quid in your pocket than someone else's."

8. Pay in one go
The expert said: "It's not possible for everybody – but if you can, pay it in one go.
"It's always cheaper by hundreds because you're paying no interest."
